What are Sensors?

Sensors are devices or instruments that detect and measure physical properties or changes in the environment and convert this information into signals or data that can be interpreted, displayed, or used for various purposes. Sensors play a crucial role in numerous applications across various fields, including industrial automation, consumer electronics, healthcare, environmental monitoring, and more.

 

Different types of sensors are designed to measure specific physical quantities, and they can be classified based on the parameters they sense. Some common types of sensors include:

  3. Proximity Sensors: Detect the presence or absence of an object within a certain range.

  6. Humidity Sensors: Measure the moisture content in the air.

  7. Accelerometers: Measure acceleration forces.
