What is Summer Season and when does it Occur?

Summer Season and when does it Occur

  • The term "Summer Season" refers to one of the four seasons in the temperate and polar regions of the Earth, characterized by warm temperatures, longer daylight hours, and typically clear skies. Summer occurs between spring and autumn and is associated with the tilt of the Earth's axis toward the Sun during its orbit around the Sun. In the Northern Hemisphere, summer usually occurs from June to August, while in the Southern Hemisphere, it occurs from December to February.

  • During the summer season, the hemisphere tilted toward the Sun experiences warmer weather due to the direct angle of sunlight, resulting in longer days and shorter nights. This phenomenon leads to increased temperatures, melting of snow and ice in polar regions, and the growth and blooming of vegetation. Summer is often associated with outdoor activities, vacations, and leisure time spent in parks, beaches, and other recreational areas.

  • The exact timing and duration of the summer season can vary depending on factors such as latitude, altitude, and local climate patterns. In equatorial regions, where the tilt of the Earth's axis has less effect on seasonal variations, temperatures remain relatively consistent throughout the year, and distinct summer and winter seasons may not be as pronounced.
