Summer is not just about the scorching heat and humidity, It brings with it various benefits that are enjoyed by people across the country. Here are some of the benefits of summer season that most people in the country experience:

 

Advantages of Summer Season

 

High in vitamin D:

  • Ultraviolet rays from the sun are essential for vitamin D production. It is a type of "sunshine vitamin" that helps prevent skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis and strengthens the immune system.

Festivals and Celebrations:

  • Another advantage of the summer season is the availability of numerous festivals and celebrations that take place during this time. For example, Holi, Baisakhi and Ugadi are some of the major festivals that are celebrated in India during the summer season. On Holi, people throw water colors and play with each other to beat the feeling of scorching heat to some extent. These festivals bring people together and provide a feeling of community and unity.

Longest Day:

  • The days are longer when you are out in the sun. You dont have to worry about work or school, so you can just relax and enjoy the day. In the summer, you can enjoy the longest days of the year, while in the winter you have the shortest.

Fruits & Vegetables:

  • One of the primary benefits of the summer season is the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables that are available during this time. Mango, watermelon, litchi and papaya are some examples of delicious and nutritious fruits grown in the summer season. Similarly, vegetables like cucumber, bitter gourd, okra are also in season at this time.

  • The summer season is also a peak season for tourism, as many people take the opportunity of school holidays and travel to different parts of the country to explore its natural and cultural treasures. Disadvantages of Summer Season

 

Although the summer season usually brings many advantages, it also has some disadvantages that affect the daily life of people. Here are some of the summer season errors that people often experience during this time:

 

Heat and moisture:

  • The most significant disadvantage of the summer season in most countries is the extreme heat and humidity, which can be uncomfortable and even dangerous for some people. High temperatures and humidity levels can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke, especially in people exposed to the sun for long periods of time or who work outdoors.

Water Shortage

  • Water scarcity is another significant problem that people face during summer in many countries. High temperatures and humidity levels increase water demand and many areas have limited or inadequate water supplies. This can lead to water shortages, which can affect daily life and cause health problems.

Vector-Borne Diseases

  • The summer season is also associated with the risk of vector-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria and chikungunya. High temperature and humidity levels create a favorable environment for the breeding and growth of mosquitoes and other disease-carrying insects. Overall, the difficulties of the summer season can make it a challenging time for many people. However, by taking necessary precautions and adopting appropriate coping strategies, people can mitigate the negative effects of the season and enjoy its benefits.

Use fans and air conditioners

  • Using fans and air conditioners can help cool the body and relieve heat. It is recommended to set the temperature of the air conditioner between 24-27 degrees Celsius to save energy and reduce electricity bills. Also, it is advised to avoid going outside as soon as the air-conditioned temperature is present.

Take a shower regularly

  • Regular bathing helps to keep the body cool and refreshed during summer. Bathing at least twice a day is recommended, especially before going to bed, to cool down the body and improve sleep quality. By adopting these coping strategies, people can better deal with summer heat in any country and ensure their well-being this season.
