5 Surprising Benefits of Photography
Photography can make your life so much better with the right camera and vision. These are just a few of the many benefits of cultivating a love for photography.
Photography imparts immortality
- Not having faith? Look at all the old photographs that your mother or grandmother has around. I personally have a picture of a newlywed couple in 1911 in my china cabinet and I dont know whose it is. (No, Cousin Anne, I dont want to know.) I mean, its got their names on the back, but Im not quite sure where they are on the family tree. I just think its cool. They looked so strict and formal! Its definitely different from the way we take natural photos today. I personally will be immortalized laughing at many pictures.
Photography is an excellent stress reliever
- I mean, really, how much can you focus on that all-consuming problem when youre focused instead on the petals of a flower, the wings of a butterfly, the graceful curves of a majestic mountain, or the dimples of a smiling baby?
Photography stimulates your imagination
- My sister is a professional photographer and her creativity when photographing children led her (slowly) to a career as a photographer. He likes to find and replicate creative poses like newborns in webs seemingly hanging from the sky. She likes to take a couple and create romantic ways to show the love they share.
Photography brings you close to your natural spirituality
- Look around at the wonder of nature. Whether you believe in God or not, you cant help but be moved by the beauty around you. You just cant help but realize how small you are when youre realizing how huge everything else is.
Photography lets you see things you would never notice otherwise
- When I look at something I cant possibly take in every aspect that comes into my view. For example, a beautiful sunset only lasts so long and I cant notice all aspects of how the colors play on the water (I live in a beach town). The appearance of sand (such a common thing) changes as the sun goes down. All these aspects are much clearer in a picture, and I can concentrate on the overall vision while knowing that the individual elements will not be lost forever.
